Job description: ResponsibilitiesPeraton’s Defense Mission and Health Solutions (DM&HS) Sector is seeking a System Administrator to support Department of Veteran’s Affairs, Office of Information and Technology (OIT), programs.The program provides IT support services to assist in achieving VA’s mission of serving Veterans and the public by delivering effective support and monitoring services within VA. This team aids in modernization and standardization efforts and performs and executes support services consisting of IT operations and services providing a consolidated view of access control remediation efforts, ensures the accuracy of personnel data, and seamless identity and access management operations throughout VA. The Lead System Administrator will collaborate with stakeholders to coordinate and monitor access control activities, track remediation actions, and facilitate dashboard reporting to achieve effective application across the VA. They will manage initiation of mandatory control objectives at the local level, automatic disabling of inactive end user accounts, and regular updating of service account passwords.What You will Do:
- Configure hardware, software, and peripheral equipment for desktop and laptop computers.
- Monitor and resolve issues: Using best practices and tools to monitor user endpoints and proactively resolve problems.
- Support researching and evaluating technology needs.
- Provide hands-on technology support for hardware, software, and network resources.
- Manage endpoint computing devices
- Work directly with engineers, operations teams, and customers to remediate endpoint vulnerabilities
- Incident response resolution and reporting (zero-day patching)
- Perform fault-finding, analysis, and logging of information for reporting of performance exceptions
- Proactively monitor system performance and capacity planning
- Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
- Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
QualificationsRequired:
- 2-5 years of experience with BS/BA, or 3 years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Clearance: Ability to achieve a position of trust
- Required: Security+
Desired Qualifications
- MCSA/MCSE
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills at the system administrator level.
- Strong interpersonal skills with both technical and non-technical professionals and solid overall communications and technical writing skills.
- Passion for the customer which is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer experience.
