Employment and Class Action Brief Writer – Senior Associate Attorney / Counsel needed!Location: Chicago, IllinoisOur client, a distinguished AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking an accomplished Senior Associate Attorney or Counsel to join their Class Action Practice Group based in Chicago as a dedicated brief writer. This is a full-time role focused on legal research and brief writing for complex class action matters.Candidate Profile:
- JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
- Bar Admission in Illinois.
- 7+ years of substantive legal research and writing experience, preferably in class action matters.
- Demonstrated expertise in formulating and executing briefing strategies for class action cases.
- Detail-oriented with superior research, organizational, and writing skills.
- Ability to stay current on employment and class action law developments across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience in Big Law is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with class action merits teams to prepare substantive briefs and motions.
- Draft complex dispositive motions, motions for summary judgment, decertification motions. motions to compel arbitration, appeals, and mediation statements for its clients in various jurisdictions.
- Prepare opposition briefs for class and collective treatment and appellate briefs.
- Develop mediation statements and other key legal documents for clients in various jurisdictions.
- Conduct in-depth legal research and apply relevant legal authority to support facts and strategies.
