Job description: What you’ll do…Position: Senior Software EngineerJob Location: 10500 Ne 8th Street, Bellevue, WA 98004Duties: Uses advanced technologies to perform requirement and scoping analysis. Employs tools such as Jira and Confluence to create and maintain traceability matrices, document requirements, and manage risk analysis. Uses software architecture frameworks such as microservices and serverless computing to build scalable systems. Designs distributed systems using technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration and management. Implements design patterns and best practices to enhance maintainability and extensibility. Develops disaster recovery strategies using cloud infrastructure and data replication technologies. Implements telemetry and monitoring systems such as Grafana and Prometheus to provide real-time insights. Performs coding tasks, adhering to coding standards, using coding languages such as Java, frameworks, tools, and platforms. Integrates development environments (IDEs) such as IntelliJ and Visual Studio Code for efficient coding and debugging. Applies automated code analysis tools such as SonarQube to ensure code quality and security. Conducts testing with the help of advanced testing tools and frameworks such as JUnit and TestNG. Creates test cases and defines test objectives and strategies. Executes various test types, including unit, integration, end to end, and performance testing, to detect errors and defects. Handles and manages defects using tools such as Jira for defect life-cycle management, tracking. Analyzes root cause with end-to-end testing and log monitoring tools including Splunk. Take corrective actions to address performance bottlenecks and prevent defect recurrence. Maintains a DevOps orientation using CI/CD tools such as Kubernetes and GitHub pipeline, with knowledge of operating systems, maintenance tools, application monitoring, debugging tools, reverse engineering, and design methodologies. Performs complex maintenance procedures and monitors application performance. Monitors program process using project management tools such as Jira. Ensures adherence to project milestones and timelines and evaluates change requests for validity and feasibility using agile methodologies and tools such as Scrum and Kanban boards.Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area.Skills required: Experience with building tools including Maven or Gradle, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools for Java web services. Experience designing and implementing REST API Web Services using Java. Experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) and understanding of OOP concepts including inheritance, encapsulation, and polymorphism for designing and structuring code. Experience utilizing Database Management Systems including SQL and NoSQL. Experience with version control systems including Git to manage code changes and collaborate with other team members. Experience writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented Java code for web services. Experience applying Agile Methodologies including Scrum and Kanban in Software Development. Experience with automated testing of RESTful APIs using Junit and Mockito. Experience understanding data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming in Java. Experience with RESTful API design principles, best practices, and HTTP methods. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.Salary Range: $128,502/year to $216,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
