- Design and develop functional assays to enable lead selection and candidate identification milestones for discovery-stage programs
- Design and develop cell-based assays to investigate immuno-oncology-based mechanisms of action including but not limited to co-culture of tumor cells with primary immune cells and downstream assessments of immune cell functions
- Design and conduct in vitro experiments to elucidate mechanisms of action of antibody-target engagement, including key cell biological activity such as signaling, trafficking and pharmacodynamic responses
- Perform research in a dynamic and collaborative environment
- Participate and collaborate in drug discovery programs as the functional biology lead
- Assist in the identification and validation of disease-relevant biomarkers
- Evaluate therapeutic candidates using biochemical assays, cell-based assays,
- Make detailed scientific observations, analyze data, interpret, and present results internally and with external academic collaborators
- Collaborate with colleagues in Discovery Biology, Antibody Engineering, Protein Sciences, Discovery Pharmacology, DMPK, Project Management, Toxicology to develop innovative research and develop novel drugs
- Publish independent research and contribute to patent filings and relevant documentation of discoveries
Requirements
- PhD in Cancer Biology, Immunology or Neuro-oncology or Neuro-immunology or Master’s degree and 6+ years related scientific experience or Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years related scientific experience
- Graduate level, postdoctoral training or industry experience in oncology and immunology preferred
- Proficiency in a broad range of biochemical, molecular and cellular techniques related to oncology and immuno-oncology
- Expertise in the culture of mammalian cell lines, primary human and mouse immune cells and flow cytometric analysis of immune cell populations
- Highly organized with excellent analytical, writing, and critical thinking skills
- Strong oral/written communication skills
- Creative and inquisitive thinker who is eager to explore and learn new skills
- Independent thinker with a track record of driving drug discovery programs forward
Salary Range: $121,000.00 to $153,000.00 . Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
