Job description: Job Title: Registered Nurse – Staffing Office (Nursing)Location: Watertown, NY 13601Payrate: $67/hourlyDuration: 13 Weeks ContractGuarantee Hours: 36 HoursShift: NightSchedule: Biweekly Guaranteed Hours (72 hours for 12-hour shifts or 80 hours for 8-hour shifts, with shifts possibly split unevenly between weeks)“Your pay is based on whether you are in a local or travel position. A travel position is defined as residing more than 60 miles from the facility.” Key Responsibilities:
- Provide and coordinate care in accordance with established nursing practices and protocols.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient status and respond to changes appropriately.
- Ensure safety and compliance with infection control standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions and discharge planning.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Licensure: Current New York State RN license.
- Certification: Current BLS certification required. IV certification required within six months of employment.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of clinical experience relevant to the unit or service patient population, including proven experience/expertise in management.
Skills and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
- Ability to assess clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs of patients.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to function well under stress.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Proficiency in personal computing, including word processing.
- Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and take initiative.
- Professional maturity, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing timely, quality, and cost-effective patient care.
Physical and Safety Requirements:
- Good hearing and vision abilities required.
- Ability to recognize safety issues and safely lift/move patients of various sizes using lifts or other equipment.
- Must be free of ambulatory impairments that restrict navigating stairs and corridors swiftly during emergencies.
- Must function well under stress and demonstrate flexibility in taking on new responsibilities.
