Job description: Senior Linux EngineerSalary: 160,000-250,000 base salary with annual discretionary bonusA proprietary trading firm is looking to bring on a Senior Linux Engineer to their global team.The Linux Engineer will be responsible for:

Design, Build, and maintain Linux systems on which the firms trading infrastructure runs on.
Optimise Linux systems to run with the lowest possible latency, including performance tuning, and kernel tuning.
Contribute to on-going globalisation efforts of the firms Linux systems including reducing redundancies, improving infrastructure bottlenecks, and improving automation stacks.
Collaborate closely with network, hardware, and software development teams.

The Linux Engineer should have the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Python development
Expertise in Kernel development, performance optimisation, and kernel tuning.
Experience working in latency sensitive environments
High Performance Computing, and Kubernetes experience a major plus.

This role must sit in the firms Chicago office working in a hybrid model of 3 days per week in office, 2 days remote.
