The Assistant Manager, Influencer Marketing, is responsible for assisting a Director and Manager in the development, management, and execution of all US influencer, press and consumer engagement strategies for philosophy to drive awareness, consideration and demand.

This role will be responsible for US influencer program execution, including a paid ambassador affiliate program and a robust micro-influencer advocacy initiative. Additionally the Assistant Manager will oversee the creation of strategic activation evaluations and recaps and will help oversee a Coordinator in the development of monthly and quarterly recap reports, influencer and media list management and maintenance.

The Assistant Manager, Influencer Marketing should be adept at juggling multiple activation priorities, be highly organized and proactive in their approach, with a positive, team-oriented attitude. The position calls for an enthusiastic social media consumer who is tapped into the beauty category, has strong writing skills and a genuine passion for beauty and the influencer marketing/public relations field. The Assistant Manager will be at the forefront of philosophy’s push to develop a strong, authentic community of creator advocates, and the position requires a strong communicator, interested in cultivating meaningful creator relationships. Experience working with digital-centric skincare brand(s), micro-influencer management and affiliate marketing is a strong plus.

The role acts as an internal liaison with Global Influencer Marketing, US and Global Marketing, Digital, Media, E-Comm, DTC and external agencies to ensure 360, comprehensive programming that harnesses the power of traditional and digital media to facilitate and inspire connections and engagement between our brand and its target audiences.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Assist in the development and execution of local communication strategies including:
  • Event proposals
  • Influencer partnership and seeding proposals and guidelines
  • Mailer proposals
  • Calendars/local activation timelines
  • Research, vet and contract influencer partners for campaigns and initiatives, including influencer ambassador affiliate program
  • Assist in the creation, management and execution of US press and influencer campaign guidelines and local event proposals to secure extensive coverage across a variety of mediums in the US market
  • Manage and execute organic macro/mid-tier and micro/nano influencer seedings and creative mailing efforts
  • Help to build and implement a micro/nano influencer advocacy program that empowers philosophy fans to create content around our products
  • Identify relationship building opportunities on key social platforms, entering conversation, and driving product seeding to build groundswell on the platform
  • Maintain an understanding of the overall influencer landscape and functionality related to each social media platform; research and stay up-to-date on top tier influencer brand partnerships and monitor competitive partnerships regularly; share updates to Leadership as requested
  • Support local event preparation and execution
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key influencers, editors, agents, and external agencies/vendors
  • Maintain influencer community list that is aligned with brand objectives, messaging, and overall aesthetic to successfully drive brand awareness; research and identify new categories of influencer relationship building to expand network consistently
  • Manage and oversee influencer and press recaps, reporting and tracking platforms (Traackr, DMR), identifying key insights to optimize brand strategy
  • Liaise with the Global Influencer Marketing, US and Global Marketing, Media, Digital, E-Comm and DTC teams to ensure that communications are synergistic with marketing campaigns and other brand initiatives and leverage advertising buys
  • Manage external agencies on the execution of influencer initiatives, developing content briefings and contract negotiations to ensure strategic and executional excellence
  • Oversee purchase order process for timely payments of agencies, influencer partners and contracted vendors
  • Originate and execute trend pitches, seasonal pitches, mailings, and other outreach
  • Manage forecasts and product orders, press materials and other assets in a timely manner via Prometheus and SAP
  • Manage detailed brand budgets and interface with finance team on a regular basis to ensure accuracy


We’d love to see candidates who have:


  • 4-year Undergraduate Degree in Communications or Related Field
  • 3+ years of Influencer Marketing and/or related experience
  • Existing media and influencer relationships; influencer campaign management mandatory
  • Experience in micro-influencer programming
  • Experience in affiliate programming
  • Agency, beauty and skincare-specific experience a strong plus
  • Interest in the Beauty, Public Relations and Influencer Marketing industries
  • Based in or near NYC
