Job description: An AQ/PQ Quality Engineer in the castings and aerospace manufacturing industry ensures that all products meet stringent aerospace standards by overseeing quality control processes, conducting inspections, and resolving quality issues. They collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to drive continuous improveThe Quality Engineer, Advanced Product / Quality Planning will:

  • Oversee Quality Assurance Processes: Monitor and manage quality control activities throughout the casting production process to ensure products meet stringent aerospace standards.
  • Conduct Product Inspections: Perform detailed inspections of cast components, using both visual and dimensional analysis, to verify compliance with design specifications and customer requirements.
  • Develop and Review Quality Plans: Create and maintain quality assurance plans, including APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation.
  • Troubleshoot Quality Issues: Identify root causes of non-conformances and implement corrective actions to address product quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve quality concerns and improve overall product quality.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Engage with suppliers to ensure that incoming materials meet quality standards, conducting audits and assessments as needed.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to address quality concerns, provide updates on product quality, and ensure satisfaction with delivered components.
  • Support Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing production processes, reducing defects, and increasing efficiency.
  • Maintain Compliance: Ensure that all quality activities comply with aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as AS9100.
  • Document and Report: Maintain detailed records of quality inspections, audits, and corrective actions, and prepare regular quality reports for management review.

  • Ideally 2+ years of experience in Quality Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Industrial or other relevant field
  • AP/QP experience (Advanced Product/Quality Planning (APQP))
