The Employment Specialist champions fellows and alumni through their career journeys. This position requires a community-focused individual who can deliver effective career readiness training, provide personalized coaching, and organize engaging industry events. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong drive for results, continuously tracking metrics to improve program outcomes while building meaningful connections between fellows, alumni, and employer partners. This role balances hands-on career guidance with strategic program support to create pathways to professional success. Key goals include achieving 75% engagement and placement for 2024 alumni by end-2025 and delivering Career Readiness training to help reach 65% placement for current fellows. TKH adapts to changing circumstances and priorities, making job expectations dynamic. This description outlines essential functions but does not limit the tasks that may be assigned.Fellow-Focused Responsibilities (40%)Deliver engaging career readiness curriculum and comprehensive assessmentsComplete personalized coaching to guide fellows through career planning and job search processesPartner with the Student Success team and instructors to ensure integrated support systemsAlumni-Focused Responsibilities (35%)Deliver industry-focused events and strategic alumni engagement initiativesConduct ongoing career guidance and professional development opportunities for program graduatesContribute to compelling materials that highlight alumni achievements and career progressionEmployer-Focused Responsibilities (15%)Support and communicate with corporate partnerships to establish sustainable hiring pipelinesConnect employers and candidates through structured opportunitiesProgram Support (10%)Collect and record performance metrics to drive continuous program improvementComplete insightful reports and contribute to departmental strategic initiativesSchedule RequirementCandidates must be available for the specific weekly events described below for the duration of the program:June to December Thursday Class Time: 5:30 – 9:00 pm local timeThe remaining weekly hours are flexible, including a balance of standard workday hours between 9:00am – 5:00pm local time for team meetings and training.QualificationsExperience2+ years experience delivering career development training or workshops1-3 years providing one-on-one career coaching or a similar advisory roleBachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Education, HR, Business, Communications)Experience with resume review, interview preparation, and job search guidanceTrack record of successful relationship-building with employers or external partnersExperience engaging with alumni or community-building initiativesFamiliarity with job boards, LinkedIn, and other professional networking platformsProficiency in using CRM or database systems to track interactions and outcomesExperience compiling data and creating reports for program improvementUnderstanding of workforce development best practices and hiring trendsSkills and Approach to WorkAble to deliver engaging career readiness training and one-on-one coaching effectivelyComputer proficiency, including Google Suite and career services platformsSuperb written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills, including the ability to conduct and coordinate multiple tasks and projects under pressure and meet deadlinesStrong work ethic and commitment to produce high-quality workAble to work in ambiguous and fast-paced environmentsAnalytical skills and strong attention to detailExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others, including actively reaching out to colleagues to support or consult on projects and maintaining a collaborative work environmentCommitment to contributing to positive organizational culture and core valuesEmpathetic approach to understanding diverse student and alumni career challengesCompensation and BenefitsThe compensation for this part-time role is $21/hour for an expected 25-hour workweek.2% 401k matchPre-tax commuter benefitsHybrid Work at TKH
All full-time staff are expected to come into a TKH office or the field (community and industry events, including conferences or travel for work) 1-2 days per week, and the Leadership Team will be encouraged to come into a TKH office at least two times per week. There will be one consistent team day a week that will vary by team. Please note that there are some roles that may require being on-site more based on the job responsibilities.In addition to the 1 team day, there will be weeks when the expectation is 2 days/week based on required meetings. These may include all staff meetings, department stepbacks, professional development, retreats, events, or other purposeful reasons, as requested by your supervisor or team lead.How to Apply
