You’ll provide hands-on training, promote independence, and help individuals achieve their personal and professional goals. This role requires strong communication, adaptability, and a commitment to person-centered practices.This position may be filled at the Direct Support Professional Level I, Level II or Level III, depending on qualifications, experience, and program needs.ResponsibilitiesAs a Direct Support Professional, you will work directly with adults with disabilities to support their goals in both community and program settings. Your day may include:
- Training and assisting person served to perform tasks efficiently.
- Ensure quality and production levels are met.
- Track and record person served individual work production.
- Provide support services to four to eight people.
- Implement goals based on the individual’s ability to carry out the training objectives.
- Regularly communicate with team members.
- Supervise persons served while working and during break times.
- Provides transportation services as needed. Rise’s vehicle may be provided.
Level 1 Responsibilities:
Provide direct support in community employment settingsAssist individuals learning and performing job tasksSupport implementation of individual goals and plansLevel 2 Responsibilities:
Support skill development and increasing independenceAssist with job coaching and task analysisAssist with documentation and problem-solvingLevel 3 Responsibilities:Perform all level 1 and level 2 responsibilitiesLead daily operations of employment sitesTrain, mentor, and support team membersComplete and oversee documentation and reportingEnsure compliance with program, safety and quality standards
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Ability to meet DHS Rule 11 and Rise MVR background check requirements
- Reliable attendance
- Strong teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a social services setting
- Experience using person-centered approaches with individuals with disabilities
- Detail-oriented, efficient, and communicative
- Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
